VOCALIS SIGNS DISTRIBUTORS TO BRING OPERETTA, THE SPEECH-DRIVEN AUTOMATED CALL-ATTENDANT, TO CALIFORNIA BUSINESSLos Gatos, California, 7 July, 1997 -- Vocalis, Inc., premier supplier of speech recognition and call processing solutions, announced today that several Southern California distributors have formally agreed to sell Operetta, the new speech-driven automated call-attendant. Current message systems frustrate end-users with their cumbersome menu layers. According to Michael Zadiek at Columbia Pacific Telesystems in San Diego, "Vocalis speech interface eliminates the nuisance-factor associated with automated attendants. Multi-layered touch-tone menus are no longer the only option for companies who want to cut costs with automation. With Operetta, callers just say the name of the person or the department they want and Operetta handles the rest." Columbia Pacific Telesystems, a distributor of Samsung and Tadiran equipment in the San Diego area, is one of several new dealers who have signed up to distribute Operetta. Phone Source, a major Panasonic dealer in Torrance, has agreed to sell Operetta and is working with Vocalis in approaching end users with the new turnkey system. Others, to be announced shortly, distribute Lucent and Toshiba in the Los Angeles area. "We are signing up dealers in California who truly understand their market needs as well as the unique value that revolutionary products, such as Operetta, offer their customers," said Nathan Cocozza, the National Sales Manager for Vocalis, Inc. "Operetta represents more than a cost savings to customers; it gives companies a competitive advantage while providing a natural speech interface."
