VOCALIS EXPANDS DIRECT SALES FORCE, APPOINTS UK OPERETTA SALES MANAGERVocalis, the voice technology and call processing specialist, today announces that it has appointed Jonathan Derbyshire as UK sales manager for Operetta, one of Vocalis core products. Formally released in the UK earlier this year Operetta is the world's first voice activated auto attendant. Reporting to the Director of Sales Jonathan Hart, Derbyshire will be responsible for the company's Operetta direct sales force, and dealer and distributor channels. His primary objective is to grow Operetta sales to capitalise on the expanding market demand for telephony products that use speech technology. Operetta puts voice to work in the reception or corporate switchboard by answering and routing incoming calls. The product makes it easier for callers to reach the person or department they want and businesses benefit by being able to handle increasing call volumes while maintaining or improving customer service. Derbyshire has over 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry and is a fellow of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management. He joins Vocalis from PRIMUS Telecommunications, where he was national sales manager. Prior to this he was employed by BRITE Voice Systems as business development manager and held positions at Mercury Communications and British Telecommunications plc. Jonathan Hart, Sales Director explains "Jonathan Derbyshire will be a key member in the Operetta sales team. He will be responsible for motivating and developing the skills of his sales team to ensure we continue our growth in the UK market and maximise the opportunities in this expanding market."
